Two @ The Goose for an Anchor Bar Bag Of Tricks workout

    • When: 11/14/19
    • QIC: Anchor Bar
    • The PAX: Big Mac, Anchor Bar (R)

There were two of us that braved the cold wet rain at The Goose.  The original plan was to use the track around the football field, but to avoid the intermittent rain, we utilized the covered walkway on the far side of the school.

A quick disclaimer was given, then we took a mosey to the covered walkway where we placed one bag at one end of the walkway and another back at the other end.  Each bag contained 7 disc golf discs with a prescribed exercise written on it.  One bag contained Ab exercises, while the other, arm exercises.  We stopped in the middle for a few warm up exercises.  They were as follows:

  • 15 Imperial Walkers IC
  • 10 Windmills IC
  • 15 Hillbilly Walkers IC
  • 10 Cherry Pickers IC

I explained to Big Mac what we’d be doing.  We started in the middle with 5 Burpees or 10 Bobby Hurley’s.  We moseyed to one end of the walkway and randomly  picked out a disc, performed the exercise OYO to a 25 count, moseyed back to the middle, do our 5 Burpees or 10 Bobby Hurley’s, moseyed to the other end and do the same.  We rinsed and repeated until all the discs were out of the bags.  I don’t remember the exact order, but here are the exercises performed.

Bag 1 – Arm exercises

  • Carolina DD’s
  • Merkins
  • Left Arm Extended Merkins
  • Right Arm Extended Merkins
  • Diamond Merkins
  • Wide Arm Merkins
  • Knuckle Merkins

Bag 2 – Ab exercises

  • American Hammers
  • LBC’s
  • Freddy Mercuries
  • Flutter Kicks
  • Hello Dollies
  • Rosalittas
  • Box Cutters

We gathered up the discs and moseyed back to the AO.  There was some time left so we took a slow mosey around the tennis courts.

We finished with the COT.

At this time, I shared a few thoughts that have been going through my mind this week relating to Kenyan.  When he announced on FB that his wife had passed, he ended the post by telling us all to “hug the ones you love.”  That has stuck with me this week.  Don’t be afraid to let your friends and family know that you love them.  We are not promised tomorrow here on Earth, so we need to take advantage and make the most of each day and that includes loving those closest to us.

We did the name o rama, announcements and praises & prayer requests.  I closed out with prayer.

One last note.  Often times, when we show up for a workout and only one or two other pax show up, we are disappointed.  But it can only be a disappointment if you let it be.  I thoroughly enjoyed it and it gave me the opportunity to have a conversation and get to know a brother a bit better.  Thank you Big Mac.

As always, it is an honor and privilege to lead.

Anchor Bar out.
