PAX of the Rock Region. Throughout its history F3 Nation has had several incidents (some of which have lead to death) occur during or after workouts or events that has affected us greatly. This has been weighing heavily on YHC as I care for all of the brothers in F3 Nation and for their families. Well, now it is time to do something about it.
The following is not meant to prevent an incident from happening. However, it is meant to allow us to react with purpose if something does happen to one of our brothers at one of our workouts. It will also give us the tools to use at home, work, and other places if ever necessary until First Responders are able to get to we are.
WHAT: First Aid/CPR/AED Certification Training.
WHERE: Charlotte Ave. YMCA, Rock Hill, SC
WHEN: June 8, 2019, 0800-1600
WHY: Because we care about our brothers and community.
HOW MUCH: $15/Per Person. Covers Certification, morning snacks & coffee, & lunch.
You are probably asking, ‘How is it so cheap?’. The YMCA has agreed to offer the training in exchange for a 4-Hour work day at the Charlotte Ave. YMCA by all who receive the training (and any who just want to volunteer). So, in other words, 4-Hrs of work + $15 = 2-Yr. Certification & Food
The date for the work day at the Y is currently scheduled for August 10 from 0800-1200 at this time. If you attend the class it is highly recommended you attend the work day. However, I know some of you will not be able to.

There is a limit of 25 per class, so sign up now.
Emily Herring Iovanna will be our instructor. She has worked for the Upper Palmetto YMCA as a lifeguard, lifeguard instructor, CPR instructor and fitness instructor since 2007 and is a certified American Red Cross instructor. She graduated from Winthrop University in 2011 with a bachelor degree in Dance and minor in health studies. She has taught indoor and outdoor fitness classes, as well as swim lessons and triathlon swim coaching at the YMCA over the years. She completed her EMT training at York Technical College in 2012 and is currently a full time EMT for Piedmont Medical Center. She completed her Paramedic training at Gaston College in December 2018.
I understand it is significantly long and will take up much of your day. However, if we have multiple PAX trained in these areas we can definitely assist prior to the arrival of First Responders.
We will have a workout from 0630-0730 led by Italian Job that morning before the training launching from the Charlotte Ave. YMCA parking lot.
