This morning we decided that we would stay together as a group and hit the roads for some easy miles because a few of the PAX are heading down to Charleston this weekend for the marathon. That was fine with me because normally, this group would have left me in the dust.
We headed out from Sullivan up the hill by the Coliseum all the way to Winthrop. We circled around Byrnes Auditorium and down Scholars walk and then up to the flagpole by Tilman. I shared a little bit about not only preparing our houses for guests this Christmas but preparing our hearts for the Christ-child. We all have some “closets” or “corners of an attic” in our hearts that Christ has never been allowed to touch for fear of hurt, people finding out, etc. But he doesn’t just want part of our hearts, he wants it all. This Christmas, open your heart fully to him and see the miracle he can work in your life.
After saying the Pledge of Allegiance, we were off again. We headed down Sumter to Winthrop Lake, around the back of the Coliseum, and back to Sullivan. Around 4.9 miles total.
It was a bit cold this morning, but a good time was had by all and we all got a little bit better.
