Back to Boot Camp

10 PAX gathered at Eagles Nest with YHC on Q on a cool spring morning.  YHC was looking forward to today and as the appointed hour drew near, explained to the PAX that since many were in post P200 mode, we would do very little running today and get back to good old fashioned boot camp work.  The plan was to mosey over to Winthrop campus and keep the running to a minimum and stay together.  So that’s what we did.  We began with a brief warm-up which included SSH’s, Moroccaan night clubs, cherry pickers and some light stretching, we rolled out

 

The Thang

To begin the morning, we headed over to the front of Tillman Hall and Padeye led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.  Next we headed over to Scholars Walk and gathered in the circle in front of the DiGiorgio Center and YHC explained that we would start the morning off with some core work to get started.  Various exercise included Chopsticks, Flutters, Freddy Mercuries and American Hammers.  After a quick recovery, YHC explained that we would make our way down Scholars Walk by repeating the following from light pole to light pole, Toy Soldiers, shuffle left, shuffle right, bear crawl and crab crawl (2 rounds – 10 light poles).  Having arrive at the second set of stairs, we headed over to the Big Show and lined up shoulder to shoulder for the main event.  Bear crawls to the top with 5 Merkins at each step (16 steps x 5 Merkins = 80 Merkins).  A few made it to the top fastest and came back for extra credit by picking up the 6.  The PAX did a great job of staying together.  Once we arrive at the top, we planked for 60 seconds and did Makhtar N’Diayes along with a set of shoulder taps.  Then it was time for a short mosey over to the coupon pile where each of the PAX grabbed a coupon of their choice for the following, 15 curls, 15 triceps extensions, 15 shoulder presses 15 curls.

YHC shared the following verse:

Think one of the PAX joked that YHC was telling the PAX ‘do not post tomorrow’, and we had a good laugh.  YHC reminded the PAX that I would never tell anyone to ‘not post tomorrow’.

By this time, our arms and shoulders were feeling it, so we returned the coupons and headed back over to the bench area at the DiGiorgio Center.  YHC had the PAX partner up and explained that we would do 3 rounds of the following:  one man would do 20 Australian Mountain Climbers while the other performed SSH.  Then we headed over to the benches and did 15 Irkins, 15 Dirkins & 15 dips.  With about 10 minutes left, we back to the AO and closed out with Ab Lab, each of the PAX called out 1 exercise for 10 total.  YHC was looking forward to today’s workout.  It was an opportunity to get back to the basics of a good old fashioned boot camp with minimal running, about 2 miles total.

Our time together was drawing to a close so we gathered for COT, announcements, prayers & praises.  YHC closed out the morning with prayer
