One lap around the perimeter of the front lawn along Highway 5
Using manufactured coupons (weights from Boomer’s house), we formed a circle around the various weights and with one or two on weights we did the following exercises to failure.
1. Overhead shoulder (military) press
Took a break to run another lap
3. Overhead tricep press
4. Shoulder side raises and front raises
While the one or two we’re on weights, the rest of the PAX in the circle took turns calling our an excercise and they had to keep going until the ones of the weights stopped.
The 3rd F
For the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity.
Failure is a part of life I don’t like. We went to failure on the weights for a reason, it happens to all of us. I don’t like failing at things but the reality is I fail at things all the time. Failure to work as hard as I should at work some days. Failure to wait to speak in a moment of anger or hurt towards my wife or my family. Failure to exercise self control with food or alcohol, failure in not look at porn, failure not to be selfish, the list goes on and on.
Failure can also happen when it’s beyond our control. Losing a job, someone shooters to end a relationship with you, you get seriously injured through no fault of your own, again the list goes on and one.
Lastly, failure can happen because of poor choices we make when this stuff happens. We can’t control our circumstances and pain will come into our life, as Jesus promises (John 16:33) but through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we can control our response to them.
Looking at Proverbs 24:16, four responses are listed as lady wisdom speaks to us.
1. Learn from it and move forward (rises again)
2. Take responsibility and move forward (righteous response)
3. Repent of unconfessed sin (Falls seven times).
4. Reconcile relationships as needed
Notice the wicked stumble in times of calamity. When things happen, we should immediately run to Lord in prayer asking what he wants and surrendering it all to Him. Much easier said then done sometimes for me. However, it all comes back to identity. We are His children, His sons and He loves us and accepts us because of Christ’s finished work on the cross. If we could earn it or be sinless, there would have been no need for Jesus to pay the price for sin.
