Planet Pain 12-30-2017 Very Respectable Morning 9 of 12
The PAX: Iron Sights, Toot Toot, Dial Tone and the Respects Mayflower, Anchor Bar, Pistol, Peach, Jag, Klinger, Speed Racer, Walker and YCH
This was a very respectable morning and a bit breezy and an honor to lead these HIMs. We warmed up with a few SSH, R/L,L/R Hamstring Stretches and off to the races. First stop was an AB Lab at York Road Elementary. LBCs, American Hammers, Dying Cockroaches and Flutters. We used a reflect of 2017 instead of a 10 count to remember the good things of this past year. Good reflections were things from getting hooked up with F3 to graduating kids from colleges. Off to the next stop on the morning hour trip. ATC wooden seats were used for some Chest and Triceps beating. 3 rounds of Merkins, Derkins, Irkins and Dips. Walker made sure we were keeping good form and not concentrating on numbers. "2 good Merkins are better than 20 bad form Merkins". Off to the next location at NHS Stairway to Higher Learning. We used this stop to work on our Legs. Low Slow Squats then a run up the stairs, Bear Crawl across to the opposite stairs down and Bear Crawl back to the start. Next was Step Ups each leg then run the stairs and Lunge the top, down the stairs and Lunge back to the start. Off to the last stop on the tour was a short run to Rawlinson Road for the final Shoulder Beating. First was Moroccan Night Clubs then Iron Sights wanted to get some Italian Night Clubs. Next was Little Baby Circles then a few rounds of Jack Webb to finish the feeling in our shoulders. A SMOZIE back to the AO for a COT wind down. I asked the PAX to look up the Poem The Dash and decided to copy it to this Back Blast. I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on the tombstone from the beginning…to the end.
He noted that first came the date of birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time that they spent alive on earth. And now only those who loved them know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not, how much we own, the cars…the house…the cash. What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash.
So, think about this long and hard. Are there things you’d like to change? For you never know how much time is left that can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough to consider what’s true and real and always try to understand the way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger and show appreciation more and love the people in our lives like we’ve never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile, remembering that this special dash might only last a little while.
So, when your eulogy is being read, with your life’s actions to rehash… would you be proud of the things they say about how you spent YOUR dash?
Prayers and concerns we given and off to Breakfast at The Pattie Wagon for the 2nd F.
