15 of Rock Hill’s finest HIM’s decided to roll out of the fartsack to join YHC on a brisk but beautiful Tuesday morning for some miles and smiles. The PAX was told the day before that we would be running and that there wouldn’t be much of a warmup prior. YHC had posted that they should warmup prior to 0500 so we could do as much running as possible.
There wasn’t one because all PAX were ready at 0500.
Our goal today was to run for 60-Min. and get as many miles within that 60-Min. as possible. YHC asked the PAX to do their best to head to the Elizabeth St. parking deck and return within the time allotted. The PAX with faster paces were given specific points at which they would return to encourage the 6 and then to return the their paces. The entire PAX was asked to do their best and to push each other and themselves.
The route was down India Hook Rd towards downtown; Lt. on McDow Dr.; Rt. onto Charlotte Ave toward the parking deck. Then to return to the COT along the same route. Designated points to return to encourage the 6 were at half mile intervals. In other words, once you reach half a mile, return to the 6; run another half mile, return to the 6; rinse and repeat.
We made it to the Dave Lyle bridge (except for Vuvuzela who made it to White St.). Great work by all, and the lesson today was about ENCOURAGEMENT.
1 Thess. 5:9-11 For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
