It’s been done everywhere I can think of but not yet in the #RockRegion. The MURPH Challenge. The MURPH Challenge typically takes place on Memorial Day to remember Navy SEAL Lt. Michael P. Murphy who was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions in Afghanistan. He was KIA June 28th, 2005 in Afghanistan. However, since we haven’t done this particular challenge and we have a perfect facility to hold one we are having a MURPH Challenge this Veterans Day.
A workout named in Lt. Murphy’s honor will be held Saturday, November 11th, 2017 (Veterans Day) at Castle Heights Middle School. Begining at 0700 until you complete the challenge.
No AO’s will be closed for this event. You can either just do the MURPH or Double Down or Fartsack.
Disclaimer – We will have to shut the challenge down at some point – I’m thinking finished or not the challenge closes at 10 AM. So unless you’re F3 name is Burgundy, Tinker Toy or Walker you shouldn’t start the challenge at 9:30A.
- 1 Mile Run (Around the Castle Heights Track)
- 100 Pull-Ups (We have 3 pull up bars – we will find more options for modification)
- 200 Push-Ups aka. Merkins
- 300 Squats
- 1 Mile Run
- For extra credit, you can wear a 20 lb weighted vest, pack or body armor.
We’ll have another MURPH on Memorial Day.
So HC today, and as Jokco Willink says:
Get up – Dust Off – Reload – Recalibrate – Re-engage – Attack
