9 Him’s of the Rock Region joined YHC today at the Veteran for fellowship and mileage.  The plan today was simple, let’s see how many miles we can run in 50 minutes.  As the appointed hour approached, we gathered for a quick warm-up which consisted on SSH, Cherry Pickers, lean out left / center/ right.  And we were off – hoping to avoid the owl that has been seen recently at the Big Nasty

The Thang –

We took off away from the start and headed out towards the Big Nasty.  Last Friday, an friendly or overzealous owl wanted to play with Ringo and tapped him gently on the head.  The following Sunday, he wanted to play with Walker, but got shoo’d away.  As Shrute put it, Owl – 2 F3 – 0.  I guess he found somewhere else to play because we didn’t see him on this morning.  We moseyed down Dave Lyle toward Academy Sports and a few guys were setting a great pace, so we kept it going to the back side of Ruby Tuesday’s for a 10 count, followed by alternating planks & 6 inches.  After everyone caught their breath we were off again and the fast pace continued to the back of Sears at the Galleria and then to the Chic-Fil-A where we gathered for the Pledge of Allegiance.  After a final 10 count, we finished up by heading back to where we started.  Altogether we got in about 5 – 5.5 miles.  Burgundy & Deacon set a great pace and all the PAX gave great effort

We concluded our time together with announcements and prayer requests & praises

YHC closed out our time together by sharing the following verse that seemed to strike close to home given the recent sad shooting in Las Vegas

Deuteronomy 31:6

Be strong and courageous.  Do not be terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you

Sometimes when bad things happen, we can have a tendency to ask ourselves, ‘How could God allow this to happen?’ or ‘Where is God when people are being senselessly killed?’  This verse serves as a reminder that he is right there, with the victims and their families.  Our belief and faith helps us and reminds us he will never leave us.  He will use this tragedy for his kingdom

Always an honor to lead, thanks 155 for the opportunity –
