For my inaugural Eagle’s Nest workout Q 24 Strong HIMs showed up to join YHC for a tour of the AO. Eagle’s Nest is where I started F3 on Feb. 25, 2016 when I was EH’d by Popeye, posted naked, and had Gauge on Q. After I gave the F3 disclaimer and ensured that all men knew the following: F3 workouts are free of charge; are open to all men; are held outdoors, rain or shine, heat or cold; are led by men who participate in the workout in a rotating fashion; and end with a Circle of Trust we began the Warmup.
We started off the morning with a warmup of the following all in cadence: Side Straddle Hops, Merkins, Mountain Climbers, and Low Slow Squats. We then proceeded to mosey to the front of Winthrop to the American Flag where Incoming led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.
We then moseyed to the courtyard where the fountain is in Hardin Garden and partnered up. I then asked partner 1 to stay at the fountain and perform exercises while partner 2 ran down Heritage Lane to the fire escape and back. The exercises were as follows: Irkins, Dips, Derkins, and Step-Ups.
We then back towards the COT stopping along the way to perform a Sgt. York special of skiers along Stewart Ave. from the road up to the top of the curb for about 200 feet.
All men pushed themselves this very muggy morning. It was an honor to lead at the Eagle’s Nest.
Throughout the workout I stopped to allow the PAX to catch their breath and share a little (See NMM Below).
Learning your ABCs. Admit, Believe, Commit.
Physically we have all admitted that we need to do something in our lives to stay healthy. Men in F3 have believed that F3 and its workouts will assist with that. We then commit to getting up before the rooster crows and meet other men to workout.
Emotionally and socially we have admitted that we need other men to fellowship with to share our hearts and our lives with. We have believed that F3 can assist in providing the avenue for that. Then we commit to attending 2nd F events and enjoying coffee or whatever together. #Whetstone
Spiritually speaking, where do we stand. We all can see the need in our lives for physical health and good fellowship because it is right there in front of us. If we don’t have that we just break down. However, do we see the need in our lives for spiritual health? Just like the paralytic on the mat and his four friends in Mark 2 we see physical and emotional needs being met. However, Jesus saw another need in the man and his friends. His spiritual need. That is why Jesus forgave him of his sins before physically healing him.
Today, have you admitted you are lost without Jesus? Have you believed in the promises of God? Have you committed your life following and to serving Him? If not I urge you to talk with one of your F3 brothers who can help you with admitting, believing, or committing. Tomorrow is not promised, but eternity is.
Mark 2:3- 12 And they came, bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men. And when they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him, and when they had made an opening, they let down the bed on which the paralytic lay. And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Now some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts, “Why does this man speak like that? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” And immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they thus questioned within themselves, said to them, “Why do you question these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise, take up your bed and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins” -he said to the paralytic- “I say to you, rise, pick up your bed, and go home.” And he rose and immediately picked up his bed and went out before them all, so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”
