The Thang

Read Hebrews 12:1-2
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight,
and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
Prayed over the PAX and we’re off

Mozy from Wall Street to Westminster Pres parking lot 2nd entrance
Pair up- #1 Nur up the large hill and mozy back, #2 stays at the bottom of the hill doing LBCs
Rinse & Repeat with Freddie Mercurys

Talked about the passage – the Greek word for “every weight and sin” is AGON, which we get our word AGONY.  This verse is referencing the Greek decathlon (discus, javlin, running, jump events, etc.) but at the end is a cage match, every man for themselves wearing gloves with glass or metal on them to cause real damage.  Last man standing wins the whole thing.  These athletes competed naked, or in South Carolina, neked becuase clothes were a hindrance to moment.  The writer to the Hebrews counsels us this is what our SIN does in our life. Daily repentance and confession is something we all need but we need the Holy Spirit to reveal this to us.  Generic prayers of “Please bless me & forgive all my sin” are cop out, spineless prayers.  We are called to lead by example in our homes in this.

Mozy to Independence

Parking lot work…Jailbreak to far end, mozy back x3

155 leads us in Pledge of Allegiance

Talked about verse 2 and being patient and persistent in suffering in whatever form that takes place in our lives and how the Lord uses suffering to refine us (the fancy theological word is ‘sanctification’) and make us more like Jesus.  Jesus WILL finish the work of faith in our life, we have to submit and maintain a Holy Spirit filled & lead humble posture before our loving heavenly father. We need each other in this, every day. We need to be with the Lord and in His word everyday, leading our homes in this. It’s not a check box, it’s an out pouring of God’s love in our lives.

Mozy back to COT but stopped at India Hook and Oakland to go get the 6 and pray for 155, as he was hurting pretty bad.  Indian run on India Hook to the bottom of the hill, regular mozy up the hill, went back and got the 6 and we all finished together.

4.5-5 miles covered with 2 pain stations.
