Seventeen of Rock Hill’s fittest and finest met this rainy morning to reenact scenes from Shawshank Redemption. (not really, but it fit).
Disclaimer was disclaimed–no FNGs at that moment (more to come).
20 Mountain Climbers
10 Moroccan Night Clubs
Mosey the long way over to the hot box (about a mile total). We stopped at the parking lot beside the Coke Sign to get the 6 and do the parking lot shuffle.
Continue mosey to the Hot Box, where it was dry, but probably 10 degrees warmer. At this point, we were joined by Friday Night Lights, Hot Sauce, and our FNG.
Run the zipper–run up a ramp to the next stairwell. At the stairwell, 15 merkins. Go up the stairs, when exiting the stairs, do 20 squats. (this is where it was #Honeypotted). All the way to the top, then back down with same thing.
Mosey to the fountain. At the fountain, 20 Dips, 20 Derkins. Mosey to the amphitheater. Everyone did Derkins on my count simultaneously. Move over one spot, do another derkin. We then ran the stairs twice, then moseyed to the parking lot behind Kinch’s.
Here, we ran a bit of 4 corners. Jog the first three segments, sprint the last, jog the next two, sprint the next two, jog 1, sprint 3, jog a lap, sprint a lap.
At the point, Reborn reminded us of the importance of picking up the 6. After some planking, we moseyed back to the Hot Box, partnered up and did a little Catch me if you can. One partner runs, the other does 10 merkins, sprints to catch them, then switches.
At the top, call out to mosey back to COT. At COT, (under the Wells Fargo overhang–not like we weren’t already wet), we did ab lab until 6.
Great work all!
Moleskin: My theme for this year entering the year was the theme of leadership. I realized that leadership was something that wasn’t very common throughout our world–and wanted to grow in that direction. I found in the month of June, for several reasons, that showing gratitude was a part of being a leader. Since then, I’ve worked hard to show gratitude to those around me, as it is something that doesn’t necessarily come natural to me.
I am grateful for the 16 men that chose to join me on a rainy morning rather than sleep in or post elsewhere. Great work by everyone!
